Our Projects

Community Library

The community library was the first of its kind in the Kampala Region in Uganda. From day 1 it was fulfilling its purpose, attracting many students who were eager to read.

Shelter for Women / Counseling Center

The structure will now serve as a venue for mothers and young women who are victims of domestic violence or abuse and adolescents forced into early marriage.

Elementary School Tanzania

The plaster goes up and a local artist creates a design on the wall, exposing the bottles in the shape of tree. A tree is a powerful symbol of learning, representing growth and the ongoing process of acquiring knowledge.

Reception House Tanzania

After many beautiful finishing touches, the reception house is complete! Much of the furniture inside is hand crafted by locals from the Maasai Village. This structure has not only helped the O’Brien School become more self-funding, it also brought much hope, opportunity and awareness to this Tanzanian region.

Elementary School Yagoua

The elementary school in Yagoua, located in the far north of Cameroon, consisted of two classrooms serving over 80 students. Prior to its construction, children were taught outdoors under trees, exposed to harsh weather conditions.

Elementary School Mbalmayo

Once our team had mastered the bottle-building technique, we completed our first elementary school in Mbalmayo, Cameroon. The school featured two classrooms serving over 60 students. The project received a national environmental award and gained widespread attention across the country.

Outhouses Mbalmayo

We also constructed much-needed community outhouses in Mbalmayo, Cameroon, using recycled plastic bottles.

Water Tank Project

Our first project in Mbalmayo, Cameroon was a water tank—the countrys first structure built entirely from water bottles, beautifully painted by a local artist.
